Teacher Weekly

St. Vincent de Paul Parish School

Keep on, keepin' on...

Greetings, staff!

Another great week under our belts. This week was about new beginnings, structure, and a focused, building-wide alignment with our curriculum. As I have said before, this year is about structure and alignment to our vision. Thank you for your hard word, dedication, and commitment to this journey together. No one ever said it was going to be easy - but we know God is with us to strengthen us and help us to use our time, talent and treasure to make St. Vincent de Paul Parish School the best version of itself... and with the right people in place, boy, does it have some potential!

By the way... Countdown to thanksgiving break: 7 days !!!!!! Make them a great 7 days of learning!

Kids at heart in Catholic education,

Maria

The Week's Notes

PLC: NO PLC THIS WEEK. Please be sure you have signed up for a meeting with me regarding the new evaluation, lesson plan template, etc. The sign up sheet is next to the daily sign-in sheet in the office.

REVERSE-RAFFLE TEACHER'S CORNER: If you are familiar with the Teacher's Corner at the Reverse Raffle, please take a minute to fill out the following survey http://goo.gl/forms/Ee9sni7IX2 I would like to gain some more information and input from you. Please do not share this survey, and keep this information confidential. Many of our families love this aspect of the Reverse Raffle, and the message that we may be restructuring the idea needs to be clearly communicated by me to them. I appreciate your feedback and confidentiality.

NEW TEXTBOOK COMMITTEE: Please email me if you are interested in serving on this committee. We will be meeting quite often after Thanksgiving break so we can finalize decisions before Christmas break. This team will make building-wide decisions and help to choose an appropriately aligned textbook in the areas of Math, Language Arts/Reading, and Science.

SECOND QUARTER PROGRESS REPORTS: Please make sure your Edline is up-to-date before leaving for Thanksgiving break. I will print progress reports when we come back from break.

EDLINE: The 2nd quarter expectation is that you are updating Edline on a weekly basis. The expectation, for parents, is that they are able to log on and see a current grade in the child's class without having to communicate with you. Please make sure you are meeting this expectation

STAFF SERVICE OPPORTUNITY! UNITED WAY Our December Staff meeting will open with a message from United Way. All employees are asked to attend for a 10 minute presentation. Please mark your calendars.

MASS PARTICIPATION: Please practice the responses for the mass and expect to hear them during mass. I notice some learners (and even some teachers!!!) not participating at all. Please be sure you are expecting their best!
