From the Principal
We are wanting to get some feedback on how useful you have found the swimming lessons that we gained funding for this term. Below is a link to give us a quick comment on how you have found it. These comments will help shape the evaluation report that we send back to the fund holder.
We are also wanting to gather your thoughts on how much you value swimming lessons at school and whether you wish for them to continue.

Western Athleitcs
Well done to all our competitors who took part in the Western Athletics meet at Takitimu Primary School on Wednesday. We have some very talented athletes at our school and I can't wait to follow their progress in the coming weeks at the Southland Athletic Sports.
Front Entrance Way
You may have noticed that the front entrance way is getting very close to being finished. We are now in the final stages of getting the gate and fences back in place. The aim is that at the start of Term 2 we will be able to start our 'Buy a Brick' fiundraiser to complete Stage 2 of the project. I know some of you expressed an interest a few years back and we will get back in contact with those people.
Once the Front Entrance Way is completed the school buses will go back to parking at the school bus stop in the mornings and afternoons.
Nga mihi,
Simon Bell

CLASSROOM HAPPENINGS...
Tree House
This week the Tree House has explored where our special planet was in the Solar System. We have created Solar System Hats to help us remember the order of the planets. Our Jigaree art has been displayed in our room and we are proud of the shapes, lines and patterns we have created in our pieces of art.

Room 6
In addition to our normal classroom programme we have added Maker space into our routine. Before we could do this, the children learnt how painting is managed in Room 6. We did our Emu bird paintings as an introduction to painting and colour. There were many excited conversations about how to make certain colours, as they were only given the primary colours. We are very proud of how our birds have turned out. Watch this space to see our future Maker space creations.
Room 8
Happy St Patricks Day! Today Room 8 made Leprechaun traps. First we designed a trap and had to include something in the trap to attract a Leprechaun. We had lots of fun and deep thinking while we made these. Lots of students worked together and problem solved to create their trap. We are proud of our creations.
