What's Happening...
Next week we will begin a STEAM unit with a focus on geology and how water shapes the earth. Students will also explore the idea of slow and fast changes to the earth's surface.
CONFERENCES (Mar. 15, 16, 17) - Next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be minimum days so that teachers may meet with parents for conferences. Only students that have specific needs or specific areas that need growth will have conferences. Teachers will contact those parents this week to schedule a time to meet.
Report cards will go home next week. If you are conferencing with a teacher, you will receive your child's report card at the conference.
REMINDER - If your child has their own chromebook, please make sure they are being charged over the weekend!
Daily Reading
Please observe your child and their reading habits. Are they actually reading, or are they staring at the pages? Do they get up frequently or do other things while they are reading? If so, then they really aren't reading.
The book they are reading may be too hard or not interesting. Check in with them about their book. Maybe the time would be spent better if you read aloud to them or took turns reading.
These 20 minutes a day are important to create good reading habits and help kids enjoy reading.
Thanks for all those who came to Family STEAM Night on Thursday! We had a great time!
