Rocky's Review

A Note from Mrs. V.
Hello Forest Families!
We started our week with our Black & Orange Spirit Day...so much fun! If you didn't see the picture collage on Twitter, you can see it below. I want to thank everyone who donated items for our community snack and the parent volunteers who came in to help serve. The snack was a hit!
Pictures were sent home earlier this week. If you are not happy with your child's photos or your child was absent on picture day, PICTURE RE-TAKE Day is Thursday, November 17th.
'Tis the season for colds, flu and currently, RSV. (Please see the RSV Fact Sheet attached below to help you monitor for symptoms of this virus) If your child has a fever or is vomiting, please do not send them to school. Our Oakland County nurses tell us that students should be fever free (this does not include taking medication to reduce the fever) and have not vomited in 24 hours before returning to school. Please help us keep our school community healthy.
Don't forget to set your clocks BACK this weekend. I hope everyone enjoys their extra hour!
Have a fantastic FOREST weekend!
Robin
🚗Arrival/Dismissal Times & Traffic🚌
ARRIVAL
The first bell rings at 8:25am and students enter the building at this time. The second bell rings at 8:30am, and the back doors by parent drop-off are closed. If your child arrives after 8:30am, you must walk them into the building and sign them in in the office.
DISMISSAL
The dismissal bell rings at 3:30pm. By 3:40pm, we have all of our parents through the pick-up line. Please make sure you are arriving on time to pick up your child from school.
If your child is a walker and you are parking on Ravencroft to pick them up, please be mindful of our neighbors and their driveways. Parking on both sides of the street narrows the road and makes it dangerous to navigate. Please watch for our neighbors and families who are walking home. Students who are walking will only be released to a parent or guardian. Students may not wait for you on the playground. Finally, please remember that there is a posted NO LEFT TURN out of our driveway onto Old Timber during arrival and dismissal.
SEL Corner
The new SEL trait of the month for November is Courage. Students started to have conversations in their classroom on what courage means, what it sounds like, looks like and how it impacts our actions. For some students, courage can be as simple as raising their hand in class to ask/answer a question, or it could be as difficult as standing up to a bully. Courage is not letting your actions be controlled by your fears–so ask your child how they displayed courage at some point in their day.
