  • Transportation is not allowing students to ride the bus home with other students when they are going to their house after school. Due to seating assignments and contact tracing, this will not be permitted this school year.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

Special education means specially designed instruction, at no

cost to the parent, to meet the unique needs of a handicapped child.

Special Education Programs are provided for all children who have a

handicapping disability. A disability in this instance means conditions

such as: hearing impairments, visual impairments, speech or language

impairments, learning disabilities, mental retardations, other health

impairments, physical impairments, autism, and traumatic brain

injury. Every handicapped child in Ohio is entitled to services

provided by the school district in which they reside, including

children with disabilities who are homeless children or are wards

of the state. These services include: evaluation services for all

children birth through twenty-one years, diagnostic services for all

children birth through age twenty-one years of age, and educational

programs for children three through twenty-one years of age. If

you know of a child who is handicapped or at risk and NOT receiving

services, please contact the Willoughby-Eastlake City School District’s

Pupil Service Office at 440-975-3800.

ANONYMOUS REPORTING

The district has adopted an anonymous

reporting program where parents and students

can anonymously share information with

school officials and law enforcement about

threats to student safety - whether that involves

a threatened mass incident or harm to a single

student.

The information is on our district web page.

Here's how to access it:

1. Go to the main page.

2. Click students

3. Click safe schools

4. Click the green box to the left of the words,

safe schools

This will take you to the safe schools help

hotline number.

Safety Concern

Please remember that there is a stop sign at the crosswalk in the parking lot in front of the building. Many cars are not stopping or coming to a complete stop. Staff members and students from Jefferson and EMS cross at the crosswalk in the early mornings and after school. We appreciate your help with this to keep our students and staff safe.
