JOIN US FOR THE 3rd ANNUAL PRIDE RALLY AT HINESBURG COMMUNITY SCHOOL!
3rd Annual CVSD Pride Rally at Hinesburg Community School
June 3, 10:00-1:00
Our school-based GSAs would like to announce and extend an open invitation to CVSD’s 3rd Annual Pride Rally! The event is happening, rain or shine, and students, staff, families, and community members are welcome to come and celebrate alongside us. The event will be behind the school, above the playground area. Please park in the Silver Street lot.
The Pride Rally is an opportunity for our larger community to come together and celebrate our diversity, as well as support our LGBTQ+ community members in feeling seen, celebrated, and protected. Come ready to eat at the food trucks, jam out, hear from queer legislators, students, and educators.
This year’s activities include an optional out-and-back march into Hinesburg’s town center, and student-run tables with nail and hair salon and temporary tattoos, designing a personalized identity flag, pride swag, photo booth, and jewelry and button making. Last but far from least, Vermont’s own Emoji Nightmare, a drag entertainer, will be joining in the morning to help us celebrate!
We hope to see you at Hinesburg Community School this Saturday from 10am-1pm!

SAFETY FOCUS GROUP
The Town of Hinesburg is looking for 24 individuals to participate in focus groups as part of the development of the Public Safety Strategic Plan. We are looking to form 2 focus groups of 12 individuals to attend a 90-minute session. We especially would like to have parents and/or caregivers of HCS students represented. Those who participate will be provided with a $20.00 Lantman's gift card.
The focus groups will be held on June 15th with one occurring in the morning and one occurring in the evening. Specific times will be determined once interested individuals are identified. Participants will be asked about their opinions of public safety in Hinesburg, including but not limited to the services of the Fire and Police Departments.
The focus groups will be conducted by the Town's consultant's and the comments of participants will be anonymous. It is hoped that the focus groups will resemble Hinesburg's demographics.
If you are interested in participating, please email Town Manager, Todd Odit at todit@hinesburg.org with Focus Group in the subject line.
TOWN OF HINESBURG SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Construction of the Village South Sidewalk (HCS to Meadow Mist) has begun. Following the installation of construction signs and silt fence in the entire construction area, construction will occur in segments. The following schedule is subject to change given weather, permitting delays etc.
5/23 - 6/6 work will be focused in the area between Meadow Mist and Friendship lane.
6/7-6/27 work will be focused in the area between Orchard Hill and Friendship lane.
6/28-7/20 work will be focused in the area between HCS and Orchard Hill.
During the entire construction time, there will be periodic daily lane closures. As a result there could be delays during morning drop off and afternoon pick up, so please plan accordingly.
