Congratulations Newly Initiated Members!

Big Little Reveal

We would like to congratulate our newest initiated members of the Spring 2015 pledge class! On Thursday March 12, 2015, our new members came to the Cistern on campus and found out who their Big Sister was! A Big Sister quickly becomes a best friend and someone for the new members to look up to. Throughout the week leading up to reveal, the Bigs left gifts and clues for their Littles.

Walk for Water

On Saturday March 21, 2015 our chapter participated in our local philanthropy, Water Missions International's event, Walk for Water. Thousands of people began the walk at Brittlebank Park with an empty bucket of water and made their way through historic downtown Charleston. Once at Hampton Park, we filled our buckets with water and headed back to the start of the significant walk. The water we carried was dumped in a Water Missions International engineered water filtration system that converted the water into fresh drinking water! The main goal of the event was to slow down (No Running!) and understand the struggles people all over the world face just to have safe, drinkable water.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Meryl McCants, is currently an intern at Water Missions International. Meryl says, "as a Water Missions International intern I have loved bringing my passion for the organization to the chapter! It was heartwarming to see my sisters participate in the annual Walk for Water and donate to the cause. I think the chapter enjoyed slowing down for a morning and recognizing we can make a difference for others.

Sister Spotlight

One of our sisters, Alyson Antinopoulos, walked the runway and competed in a modeling competition during Charleston Fashion Week! Alyson said, "It was a very stressful week trying to manage school and being under the tents in Marion Square by 6:00 a.m. but it was such a great experience. It was my second year participating in the event and I was chosen as one of their top models out of 200 girls, so I felt extra pressure this year. I walked in 10 shows and met a lot of other models who go to College of Charleston and realized how competitive the modeling world really is". Congratulations, Alyson! We are so proud of you!

Annual Silent Auction

Saturday, April 18th, 5pm

5 Faber St

Charleston, SC

Each year our chapter hosts a silent auction benefiting our national philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Our auction helps Kappa Alpha Theta as a whole contribute up to 75% of all funding for the non-profit organization. The auction overlaps with parent's weekend, making this a great event for parent's to enjoy with their daughters. Family Weekend will include a tour of the chapter facility, shopping, the silent auction, and the scholarship brunch! The weekend will be full of cherished moments for all!
