Trunk or Treat: Looks of Literature
The St. Agatha Trunk or Treat was on Friday, October 25 at the St. Agatha parking lot. Trunk or Treat was a fun event in spirit of the fall season. Students, faculty, and parents dressed in their fun costumes. At the Trunk or Treat car trunks were decorated according to the theme: Looks of Literature. Families came together with great ideas that brought the theme to life. It was an overall fun event for kids of all ages, even the little ones! The younger kids were having fun, enjoying the decorations and trick-or-treating at each trunk. The older kids helped out refilling candy buckets or they had fun singing and dancing! Our Student Council booth provided guests with sweets such as Oreo spiders and brownies. Kudos to all the parents and staff members for their time and effort to help make the Trunk or Treat possible. We are truly blessed to have such great parents and staff members! Overall, the Trunk or Treat was a fantastic event where many people had fun. From the trick-or-treating to the singing and dancing, it was a truly amazing time!

Are you Ready to GLOW?
Our Middle School had its first dance of the year and it was a GLOW party to remember. Our Student Council and Teachers worked hard to transform the Parish Hall with up-lighting and black UV lights to add to the magic of the evening and to ensure that everyone was 'glowing.' When asked what she enjoyed most about the dance, 7th grader Gianna Diaz stated, "I loved that the DJ played a variety of music." For Mrs. Perillo, St. Agatha Alumni, Social Studies teacher, and Student Council Moderator, it was definitely a throwback, "I absolutely loved it! Being there with all the kids brought me back to my middle school days at SAS." Special thanks to our student council members, teachers, and faculty members that worked so hard to make sure that we had a great time!

Miracle Walk for Down Syndrome
On Sunday, November 3, 2019, thirty-three St. Agatha middle school students participated in the 12th Annual Miracle Walk in Coral Gables. This annual event raises money to provide services to people with Down Syndrome and their families throughout Miami-Dade County. At the start of the event, walkers were welcomed with a live marching band, cheerleaders and dancers. They created a fun environment and set a positive start to the event. Although the Miracle Walk was only one mile, the atmosphere was full of cheer, energy, and celebration. It felt very nice to be a part of this event and have our school community represented. I especially enjoyed the food stations at the end of the walk and seeing the smiling faces of all the participants. This is one event that should not be missed!
