Athletes of the Week
Emilia Waldrop (Girls Soccer)
Emilia Waldrop is the Girls Soccer Athlete of the Week. Emilia stepped into a new position and made a huge difference for our team. She shut down the top scorer in our league by playing one-on-one defense. Her tenacity on the field ensured a huge 2-0 win for the team against cross town rivals, Mission Vista. Emilia is fast, strong, a good teammate, and a pleasure to coach. The girls soccer team is lucky to have Emilia always pushing her hardest at practice and games.
Artem Sydorenko (Boys Soccer)
The Boys Soccer Athlete of the Week is Artem Sydorenko! Artem is a Junior and first year Varsity player for RBV, who just recently moved to Vista, California from Ukraine just over eight months ago. He is an integral piece in our midfield line, and despite any language barriers, has found a way to impact the team in a positive way both on and off the field! Artem has also shown his dedication to the team’s success by dropping back into the defensive line when needed. We are grateful to have Artem as a part of the RBV Longhorn Boys Soccer team!
