OQMS Students,
We will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 9, 2018 at 8:00 am. Veterans Day is an important day of remembrance for our country and we attend school on this day to honor those who served our country. Freedom is a concept that shaped our American culture. While the concept did not begin with the United States, it was championed by the colonists who fought to be independent from Great Britain. Almost immediately the entire world was positively impacted by our American Constitution and the American soldier immediately became the protector of freedom at home and abroad.
Student Challenge:
Be a part of our Veteran’s Day Celebration by creating one of the following by Friday, 11/3 at the end of the day.
A multimedia presentation(Google Slide or Video) that honors American Soldiers who bravely served our Country.
Writing a Poem about the meaning of Freedom or the American Soldier.
Write a Thank You letter to the soldiers who have served.
Write a short essay on What the United States would be like if our Veterans had not served.
Please turn in a copy to Mr. Billingsley by Friday, 11/2 by the end of the day.
