Dismissal Plan
We will continue to have bus students to be escorted to the auditorium a few minutes before the bell. Buses will be loaded first, and we will call walkers as soon as it is safe, and we have most buses cleared. Thanks to all the staff that are helping in the auditorium!
Open House:
Please keep in mind the following expectations as you plan for Open House/Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 16th from 6-7:30 pm. Teachers will make presentations from 6:30-7:30 pm that include the following: class curriculum and provide parents with copies; classwork/homework participation requirements; how students are graded; how to contact teachers/team; review communication via Remind; use of the website. Have a sign-in sheet with space for parent and student names. If parents do not attend, information must be sent home with students and posted on the Team website. Each team should create a google folder with all teachers and team information, please share it with Michelle Scott and Moody so they can continue to update team information on the school website.

Teams need to select representatives for their content/grade level for the leadership teams below. I will need to recruit parents which will determine the number of teachers for Site Council. RJLT (click Bulldog to see video)
Please take the time to watch this video that is under 10 minutes long (https://youtu.be/f6cqj_rUn_U). It provides those of you new Restorative Justice a great foundational understanding of the theory and practice and for those returning to RJ- it will solidify your understanding. The video also provides you with tons of resources as well.
5 Myths of Restorative Justice (RJ):
- RJ is an alternative to suspension
- Just follow the checklist of steps to accomplish RJ
- RJ is NOT your one-step solution to racism and inequity
- RJ is best implemented when community members can choose to opt-in
- RJ produces immediate results
See Lori Casey for assistance.
