8th Grade Teachers only - Special Schedule for Science CMT Day - March 17th
KPU Food Drive
To: All Morning Advisories
Please announce to your MA students!
Calling all of KP including students, families and teachers!!
We need everyone’s support this year to help us spread kindness to the West Hartford community by participating in this year’s food drive (sponsored by KP Universal and the KP Service Club)! Here are the important details:
Start Date: Monday, March 16
End Date: Friday, March 27
Donations: to supply the West Hartford Food Pantry and to support the Backpack Program at the Fern Street Community Kitchen
What to donate:
West Hartford Food Pantry
any non-perishable food item
Fern Street Community Kitchen would like to fill backpacks for children and families in need with the following items:
Whole Grain Cereals- Cheerios, Kix, Wheaties, Total, Kashi, Chex
Oatmeal Packets- Low Sugar
Shelf Stable Milk (such as Horizon single serve)
Healthy Cereal/Granola Bars
Macaroni and Cheese- Boxed or Cups
Canned Marinara Sauce
Pasta
Fruit Packed in Juice
Creamy Peanut Butter (no glass jars)
Jelly (no glass jars)
Canned Soup
Rice- Small Bags of Boxes
Here are some other logistics:
-don’t worry about separating the items to each destination
-each morning advisory should collect and store their donations in the classroom throughout the two weeks
-on Friday, March 27, during morning advisory, each MA will be asked to tally the total number of donations and to bring that number and the donations to Room 304 where KPU student members and KP Service Club members will collect them and keep track of the totals
-the MA with the highest number of donations will win a breakfast extravaganza!
Thanks in advance for your support in this effort!
Sound Equipment
This is to ensure that the equipment is used and put away properly, as well as for my knowledge of its' whereabouts.
Thanks in advance,
Brian Jones
Coffee House
Feeling tired, did you forget your coffee, or simply need a second cup?
COME DOWN TO COFFEE HOUSE!
Where: Teacher's Lounge
When: Monday's- during MA and 1st period
What's Brewing: Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and Folgers Decaf

GEM AWARDS to:
- Matt Bannon from colleague Gina Pudlo for taking time from his prep period to help me set up a chromebook to my projector to facilitate a project that I will be working on with students.
- Ellen Sutherland from colleague Shoshana LaPointe. A huge thanks to Ellen for switching classrooms so that the French students could use technology to study for the test when technology was not working in my room.
Marc Kotler, Allison Lessard and Shoshana LaPointe from colleague Margarita Scobbo for their support in helping with my plans while I was out sick this week and genuinely caring about my well-being.
