Principal Notes:

Dear Cimarron Parents,


It is hard to believe that the end of the 2015-16 school year is coming to a close. What a great year it has been! Here is some information to help you stay informed as we wrap up the last few days with students. Please note that information differs depending on the grade level.


6th/7th Grade Information:

Thursday, June 2nd - Last Day for 6th and 7th graders. No 8th grade attendance.

Dismissal at 10:45am.

Last day of student attendance for 6th and 7th grades.

Transportation provided.

Yearbook distribution and signing.

Bring only a pen. No backpacks at school.


8th Grade Information:

Wednesday, June 1st - 8th Grade Party and Celebration

Students will have Elective classes and shortened core classes in the morning followed by the 8th grade party on site at Cimarron.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

8th graders celebrate together with a slideshow, tournament, snacks, games etc.

Yearbook distribution and signing.

Dismissal at 2:45.

Bring only a pen. No backpacks.


Thursday, June 2nd

No school for 8th graders.


Yearbook information for all grade levels: The following are guidelines shared with students prior to yearbook signing.

  • Outstanding fines including missing textbooks, athletic uniforms etc., must be paid to receive a yearbook. Please see the bookkeeper, Melissa Everett to take care of fines.


  • Yearbooks will be labeled with names, and students will sign to receive their yearbook.


  • Always use appropriate language when signing a yearbook. Do not use inappropriate language at any time. Students who write anything inappropriate in a yearbook will be responsible for buying that student a new yearbook.


  • Student not here on the last day, will not be allowed to pick up yearbooks early and/or have friends pass it around for signatures. Yearbooks will be available after school Thursday, June 2nd or during summer break in the main office.


Also, check Lost and Found for any missing items. All remaining items are donated on June 3rd.

Jeans for Troops - May 26th

This week is a special week ending with Memorial Day. We continue to support our community and our troops. We currently have 3005 veterans living in Parker, Colorado. This Thursday, May 26th, we would like to support by wearing jeans, hats and patriotic colors. Bring a dollar to the stage in the morning. If you would like to donate more to this fund you may donate the amount you wish. All proceeds will go to G.I. Go Fund.

School Accountability Committee Elections

The original application process was not sent out to incoming 6th grade parents, so the deadline has been extended to this Wednesday, May 25, 2016.


The purpose of the SAC is to inform stakeholders, encourage participation, and provide opportunities for parents and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s programs and quality improvement processes. This form is for one position that is needed for next year, an incoming 6th grade parent. The candidates below filled out the interest form and provided a quick bio. Please vote for the representative that will be the school accountability representative for the 6th grade parent for the 2016-2017 school year. The voting will close on Wednesday, May 25th, at 3:00 p.m.

Lost & Found

Are you missing a jacket, hat, water bottle, lunch box or a pair of shoes? Lost and Found items are displayed on tables near the main office. Please encourage your child to look for items they may have misplaced and feel free to stop by yourself any time between 7am - 3pm. Any items remaining after noon on June 3 will be donated to charity.

DCSD - Summer Feeding Program

Nutrition Services will be offering a Summer Feeding Program that will provide free lunches to ALL kids 18 and under in the Parker area. It is a great program that we can offer to help families in need to fill the gap between the end of school year and the start of the next school year. Safe 2 Tell

Safe2Tell Colorado provides students and adults in Colorado schools and communities an increased ability to both prevent and report violence, by making safe, ANONYMOUS reports. The 24-hour bystander tipline, staffed by professionals from the Colorado State Patrol, is available to students, parents, and communities to report any kind of concerns to their safety or the safety of others. The Safe2Tell Colorado tipline is completely anonymous and does not have caller ID. The focus of Safe2Tell is early intervention and prevention.
