Minnesota National Guard Family Programs coordinates with state, federal, and contract personnel to connect service members, veterans, and their families to resources that help meet their needs. Family Programs promotes awareness and self-reliance in service members and their families by preparing, assisting, and supporting them throughout their military service. Beyond the Yellow Ribbon partnerships help those in need

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon community and corporate sponsors and volunteers, Meals from the Heart, and the Minnesota National Guard Solider & Family Readiness Specialists and Family Programs staff, teamed up to provide bags of groceries for those in need in the military community Feb. 10. Pictured are BTYR Community Outreach Coordinators Stefanie Hurt and Shawn Powell, along with one of several volunteers who delivered the groceries to armories and airwings across the state.

In honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day in March, Staff Sgt. Amanda Riemenschneider, 133rd Airlift Wing Airmen & Family Readiness, will be a guest on the show. The show will air throughout the week of March 5, so be sure to tune in.

Soldier and Family Readiness participates in training

The Soldier and Family Readiness Specialists team received training this month to ensure they are providing service members and families with the best support. The training covered a variety of programs and topics, including financial counseling, veteran services, and more. Month of the Military Child: Purple Up to honor military youth

April is Month of The Military Child, and Purple Up is an event that recognizes the important role military-connected youth play in support of their service member parents. Purple Up is a nationwide effort initiated by Operation Military Kids. There are approximately more than 15,000 children in Minnesota who have at least one parent serving in the National Guard or Reserve.
