Half Term

We know that all our children have worked incredibly hard since September and they are ready for a well-earned break. Please do give them a chance to rest and recuperate next week, although we would encourage them to keep reading regularly and practise their basic skills so that they are well-equipped for the next half term.

You will have seen that cases of Coronavirus are increasing locally and nationally. We have managed this well since September and the impact upon our school has not been as high as others. It is important that we continue to manage this next half term, and we can only do this together. If you are going away during the holiday please do keep safe, and if anyone in your family shows recognised symptoms of Coronavirus please take a PCR test to help identify if they are infectious. All staff continue to test at home twice each week and we would also encourage families to conduct lateral flow tests so that asymptomatic cases can be identified quickly.

Returning next term

The clocks will have changed when we return in November and the darker nights will be upon us. Please do make sure that your child is well equipped for travel to and from school by having warm, bright or reflective clothing that can be seen easily by other road users.

Poppy Appeal

We will be selling poppies and other merchandise after half term, see photo below for suggested donations. If children want to purchase anything please send your donation in a sealed envelope with their name and year group on the front.

Big picture

FOSS Halloween Events

Don't forget the FOSS Halloween Bake-off during half term. Children are invited to decorate a cake/buns, pay £1 and enter a photo of their creation by sending it to school. We will put the photos on our Facebook page and the best entries will win a prize.

FOSS are also running a Halloween Trail on 29th - 31st October. Find the pumpkins on the map and unscramble the letters to make a spooky word. Please write your name and unscrambled word on the back of your map. All the correct entries will get a goody bag. Please contact Mrs Turner for extra maps.

Amazon Smile

Don’t forget that if you use Amazon Smile and have registered our school for donations, FOSS will receive a donation. This is a very quick and easy way to make money for our children, so please do remember to keep checking that your orders have been placed this way.

School Lunches

Please see the Autumn Lunch menu below. The week after half term we will be on Week 2 of the menu but we will be changing the days around:

Monday - Cheese & Tomato Pizza, plus Jacket and Sandwich options

Tuesday - Pasta Bolognese, plus Jacket and Sandwich options

Wednesday - Fish Fingers, plus Jacket and Sandwich options

Thursday - Connie's Chicken Quesadilla, plus Jacket and Sandwich options

Friday - Bonfire Special Lunch, plus Jacket and Sandwich options

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are now 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Autumn 2021 Lunch Menu

From 8th September - 18th December 2021. This is our new menu for September - children now have a vegetarian option to choose from as well as a jacket potato or a sandwich.
