Girls Lacrosse Information
JV - The night JV Lax wore our Longhorn suit and made mischief of one kind and another. The coach called them “Wild Things” and players said “We’ll eat this game up!” and they were sent to practice without eating anything. That very night on the lower practice field their skills grew, and grew, and grew until the ceiling hung with help-defense and the walls became the offense all around. And an ocean tumbled by with a private boat, just for Lax, and they sailed off through night and day, and in and out of weeks, and almost over a season to where the wild things are. JV lacrosse has a lot of talent, played really hard, finished the season with a 7-9 record and had a lot of fun along the way. Get out and support Varsity Lax in the playoffs!
CTeam - CTeam Lacrosse ended the season with a 7-8-1 record. The team won by a good margin against Nerinx, Parkway Central, Kirkwood, and Lafayette. There were a few really close losses that could have swung our way, including games against Howell Central, Eureka, and Wentzville. Overall the team worked hard, had a fun season, and had some great wins!

April Athletes of the Month
Clara Plass (Track and Field) - Clara has been beyond extraordinary in the building of the Parkway West Girls track program. Since the season has started, Clara has single handedly taken over as the leader and spokeswoman of the team. Clara has been instrumental in the continued development of the Varsity and JV girls track program even while she continues to struggle at times with some health issues. Clara gives 100% effort in every event and will request to compete in at least three events per meet to help score as many points as possible for her team. This was never more evident than at Parkway North invite when for the first time in a number of years, Parkway West Girls Varsity track finished in 1st place. Clara dedicated her herself through pain and soreness to compete at the highest level. At Parkway North invite, Clara finished 1st in her heat of the 100 meter dash, 3rd in the 300 hurdles, and was instrumental in helping the Varsity girls 4x100 meter dash in winning and this is why I am nominating Clara Plass for athlete of the month.
Elliot Krewson (Baseball)--Elliot Krewson is one of the hardest working and most humble kids that I have ever been around. Also, Elliot is having the type of year that brings plenty of attention from around the area. Elliot is a 4 year starter for the Varsity Baseball team, and will be attending Division 1, Dartmouth College next year to play baseball.Elliot is currently on a 15 game hitting streak and we have only played 16 games. He is hitting .473 on the year and .512 for the month of April. We look forward to watching Elliot continue to grow as we finish up our strong season!
April Sportsmanship Athletes of the Month
Chase Haun (Volleyball)--Chase is one of 3 freshmen on the JV volleyball team and I can easily say that he is the best teammate and hardest worker on his team. He brings a positive can do attitude to practice everyday which spreads to his teammates and brings up our level of play. Chase started this season off with essentially no volleyball experience, but he really wants to learn and is willing to try anything without complaint. His coachability and hard work has helped him become a key part of both our offense and defense. Chase is also the first player to encourage others. This week our team lost some key leaders due to quarantine, he was vocal about his belief in our team's ability to overcome and gave support to players who were struggling in their new roles. If the JV game ends before the C-team game he rushes to the other gym to cheer them on and gets his teammates to do the same. He also stays and cheers on the varsity at every game even when players are given the option to leave. Chase gives 100% at all times whether he is on the court or on the sidelines.
Triniti Cook (Soccer)--Triniti Cook has been a consistent positve force for our squad. Her energy, attitude, and commitment to helping aid to the success of her team is second to none. She arrives to every practice or game and gives 100% of herself to the cause. She consistenly performs and is as competitive as tehy come. Her effort and energy has earned her 4 goals and 4 assists this month. Her drive has allowed her to help lead a team that is ranked #1 in the state in the Missouri Coaches Poll as well as ranked localling in the large school rankings too. Despite some personal injuries, Triniti remains focused and committed and a extraordinary team player who puts the interest of her team above herself. Our energy and postivity as a squad consistently increases when Triniti is on the field.
