Important Information
April 19th & 20th-ACT Aspire Testing. It is very important that your child is at school on time and ready to go each morning of testing. He/she will not need a snack these two days--one will be provided. Also, please help make sure your child has eaten breakfast or eats breakfast at school on testing days.
May 7th-Fitness Frenzy
May17th-Field Trip to the 4H Center in Ferndale. We sent home information about the field trip last week. Please return the form by April 9th and money by April 27th. Just a reminder--we will not be taking parent chaperones per 4H rules. Thanks for your understanding!
May 22nd-4th Grade Graduation
**** Now that the weather is getting warmer, just a reminder that 4th graders are at the age to start wearing deodorant and bathing on a daily basis. ****
Math, Science, and Social Studies
This week we will continue reviewing previously taught skills for testing. We are taking a math strand a day and looking at how these skills may be asked. We will use Edulastic and math task cards as part of our review.
With our push to get as far as we can in our fraction and decimal modules before testing April 19th and 20th, we will postpone our in-class fluency of multiplication facts until after testing. Students who have not passed their final accuracy check still need to continue practicing their facts as home.
Reading, Writing, and Word Study
Reading--We will be doing some test prep review of skills we've learned this school year. We will be playing a variety of games to help in our review.
Reminder--all students are expected to have a "grade appropriate" book to read in class every day. (This means a chapter book or a longer non-fiction selection--not Where's Waldo or a joke book). We do classroom library check in and out each Tuesday and Friday, and each class has a weekly trip to the school library.
Writing--We will be looking at writing and self-scoring our work this week to prepare for Writing Prompts on ACT Aspire.
