Kuringgai

Introdution

Kuringgai, a group of indigenous people of Australia. The Darkinjung is considered the dialects language of kuringgai. Their traditional territory spreads from north of Sydney harbour, through Lane Cover River, Middle harbour, Pittwater, the Hawkesbury river, Broken bay, Brisbane water and central coast to north of Tuggerah Lakes.


Language


The Darkinjung is considered the dialects language of kuringgai ; although there are important difference in regional areas where multiple dialects exit and there is overlap with both the Dharuk and Awabakal language.



Lifestyle

They were hunters and gatherers within their land. The Darkinjung lives were dictated by the seasons and the seasonal travels throughout their lands, with great ceremony.


Area

Most of kuringgai people live in New South Wales .Here is where they live Sydney, central coast and Newcastle .
