Dr. Christopher Nagy, Superintendent of Schools
Dear BCSSSD Community,
A Note of Recognition
I would like to take this time to congratulate all of those recognized over the past two weeks across the District and selected among their colleagues as Teacher of the Year, Teacher Assistant of the Year and Educational Services Professional of the Year. Honorees received a visit from the administration, were presented flowers and were recognized among students and staff. One from each category will move forward in the process to be considered in that same category on the State level. On behalf of the Board, administration, staff and students, we salute all of our honorees for the 2016-2017 year. Please see my blog for details for each honoree.

Staying in the Loop!
- Everyone must swipe themselves into and out of the building whenever you enter or exit the building. If the door is already open, you must swipe your card anyway. Currently we are utilizing the door swipes to sign-out at the end of the school day. Until further notification you will continue to utilize the paper & pen sheets to sign-in at the beginning of the day.
- All classroom doors are to be locked at any time when the last staff person leaves the room. When the room is vacant, all lights should be turned off, window covered, and door locked. When the classroom or offices are occupied the door is to be unlocked. Occupied = Unlock / Vacant = Lock
- Staff cell phones are not to be used during a duty period. All student cell phones and other electronic device are not to be used during their time at school. This includes from the time they step off the bus until they step back onto the bus to go home. If you have questions or don’t understand, please make an appointment to see Mr. McLemore.

Important Reminders!
When a student is having some behavioral issues and leaves a room. If there is more than 1 staff in the room, a TA even if it's a 1:1 for another student must follow the student. A phone call should immediately be made to the main office, so Crisis can respond. The staff following the student, must keep his/her eyes on the student and know what the child is wearing.
