Tonya McEnery is the most awesome test coordinator. Thanks to her attention to detail and organizational skills all students had the perfect opportunity to shine.

Thanks to all of the monitors and special administration staff for their extra efforts during the STAAR testing. These awesome educators include: Sue Atkins, Tamela Phelps, Sharon Flanagen, Sandy Apodaca, Abbey King, Leigh Hockenbrough, Raschel Boyd, Lauren Vise, Jennifer Stephens-Zazula, Lisa Ware ( if I forgot to mention someone, please let e know - SH).

Tamela is a Rockstar Educator! She has been BES Champion for two years and has done such a good job that she has been asked to lead a small group activity with the GCISD Champions of 2015. Tamela is becoming a knowledgable and respected leader at the district level.

Lisa Ware is awesome. She has been working 24/7 on the Literacy Library - it is looking great! Thanks Lisa.

Nuts and Bolts Digital Training Scheduled for April 28

I really can't wait to be on your campus Tuesday for 1:1 PLCs with your staff. I can't believe we're so close to being 1:1 at Bransford!!

This is the folder that we'll be working in if you want to forward it to your teachers. They should all have access to it, but if not they should let me know!

Please have the teachers bring their iPad & laptop!

Recently the district has partnered with Cenergistic on a comprehensive energy conservation program. You have received a copy of the GCISD Energy Conservation Resolution and the Administrative Regulations regarding Energy Management and Conservation. Please review these documents and then place them in a convenient location for further reference. Thanks for your efforts in helping GCISD use energy wisely. - SH

I recently had the opportunity to visit two elementary schools who are utilizing the Elementary ( Primary) International Baccalaureate program. I was really excited to see how well this program aligns with LEAD 2021 and our implementation of those LEAD goals here at BES. Please take some time and review the articles below. I am looking for 4 staff members who would like to visit a couple of IB schools and report back regarding the possibility of initiating this program here at BES. If you are interested in visiting please review the articles provided and then notify me via email. No more than one volunteer per grade level for this first visit. (First come- first accepted.)

Superintendent Dr. Robin Ryan and a spokesperson for State Representative Giovanni Capriglione are scheduled to speak at the BEST Career Day on May 22nd.

Counselor's Corner Information for Fourth and Fifth Grade

(Reprinted from email sent April 7, 2015)

Good Morning!

Just want to let you know about the plans that I have for Career Day. I have scheduled career day to be on Friday, May 22. Today I will be sending home notes for parents of your 4th and 5th graders to ask if they would like to present to the students about their careers.

Last month, I introduced career clusters to the students and had them fill out a survey of their top three career cluster interest. Using that data I will make a schedule for each student so they can hear the speakers of their interests.

The Plan: Beginning at 8:00 the students will go to their assigned room to hear a speaker. I am asking the presenters to talk for 15 minutes and leave 5 minutes for Q and A. The students will move through 3 rotations.

8:00-8:20-First Rotation

8:25-8:45-2nd Rotation

8:50-9:10-3rd Rotation

I will assign a presenter to each of your classrooms.

4th Grade-I know this is during your planning period. I will speak with Dr. Hodges about switching with another grade level or having specials teachers in the room with the presenters.
