SEL Student Survey for Students in Grades 4-12
A Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) survey will be available online for students in grades 4 through 12 beginning Monday, Nov. 2 through Friday, Nov. 13. The SEL survey was developed based on the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) definition of SEL.
The survey items are aligned with each of the five CASEL SEL competencies including self-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, social awareness and responsible decision making. The SEL survey results can be used to support the division’s Focus of Wellbeing component of the 2020-2021 Compass to 2025 Strategic Action Agenda. In addition, a spring SEL survey administration is also planned to allow the fall and spring SEL survey results to be used as a growth measure.
The student survey may take approximately 10 minutes to complete. On Monday, Nov. 2, Department of Technology staff will be posting an app to grades 4 through 12 students’ ClassLink LaunchPad titled Fall SEL Survey. Techers will direct students to ClassLink to locate the survey link during the administration window.

ParentVue is an online medium used by VBCPS parents to access their student’s school information such as class schedules, grades, documents (i.e., progress reports and report cards), testing information, and attendance. It is an important tool for parents to use throughout their student’s school career in VBCPS. Please see the link below for directions on how to set up an account or to access your account if you already have one. Remember, report cards will be issued via ParentVue on November 17.

First Grade Families
All first grade VBCPS students will be screened for gifted program services on tentitavely on December 17, 2020, in their classroom at Luxford Elementary.
