Monday Memo

Great things!
Parent/Teacher conferences are complete! I hope everyone enjoyed their extended weekend.
A BIG thank you to our Caring for Kids partners-Sandy, Liz, and Patty for bringing in our soup supper and cookies on Tuesday night of last week! Also to our Social Committee (Title I) for providing dinner and entertainment in the lounge on Thursday evening! What a nice place to go take a few minutes to ourselves!
The stepping stones that your classes painted are gorgeous! I can't wait to hear what your students thought when they saw their stones out there!
Congratulations to Amy, Krystal, and Shandi for completing three new challenges on Back to Basics. They each won a new wireless mouse!
A big thank you to our staff, community partners, GHS baseball team, family, and friends who joined us to create our play space near our playground! It came together so quickly, I could hardly believe it. I am so excited to hear what our kids think when they get out there to explore!
Trunk or Treat at The View turned out to be a beautiful night! We handed out candy for over two hours and got to see some friends from years ago, as well as some from this year! Thank you to Chelsea and Hannah for coming and making it a fun night for our community!
Challenge: This week try something new. It's up to you what it will be. Let's starting getting in that Growth Mindset--write in you journal about one thing you would like to try this week and how it will look. Then let's check back on Friday to see if you tried it! This will be your first journal entry.

Nuts-n-Bolts:
*We will be providing a popcorn bar and water bottles for our bus drivers and monitors on Tuesday at all arrival/dismissal times. It will be set up out in front of our doors like it was last year. Take a moment to thank our transportation staff for all they do for our kids when you see them!
* Websites are due to be updated by end of day October 26th.
*NEHS from CW will be in our building on October 25th from 9:45-10:45 a.m. They are bringing about 6 students over. If you have an activity going on in your classroom that you would like them assist will, please let me know, and we will try to divvy them up.
* We are still collecting items for our HGECC gift basket to be raffled off at the GEF Trivia Night again this year. This year's basket theme is: "Winter comfort items". We are looking for anything that you might find comforting on a chilly day: hot chocolate mix, mugs, a warm throw blanket, soup mixes, hot tea, etc. If you would like to donate-please drop your items off in my office. Anyone wishing to donate will receive a jeans coupon in return for you to use any day you wish before Christmas break.
