Redwing News
April Edition 2022
This Month
- Thanks to all our students and families for your cooperation and efforts during our spring State Testing.
- Good luck to our Advanced Placement students who will be testing in the next few weeks.
- Please remember that Friday 5/6/22 is a half day. Students are released at 11:05 a.m. Grab and Go Lunches will be available.
- Discriminatory Comments: Hatred in the form of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. does not have a place at SJHS. Please remind students that comments of these nature, regardless of context, are not welcome anywhere, but especially in the school environment.
Additional Student Concerns:
- Dress Code: As the weather changes (hopefully!) please be mindful of the SJHS Dress Code.
- Social Media: The school cannot police social media, but families certainly can. Hurtful posts are a major distraction from education and have significant negative effects. Remind students that "likes" and sharing can be just as harmful as the original post.

SENIOR RECOGNITION ADS
Some parents like to recognize their senior with a special message and pictures of their choosing. These are called senior recognition ads and there are two ways for you to purchase one.
Design Yourself on Jostens.com
This will allow you to design your own ad digitally from home, with pictures and your message. The ad will automatically be placed in our book after you have paid for it. The yearbook staff will even be able to see it designed on their layouts in the ad section before the book goes to print. Payment is also made directly to Jostens.

May 1
The Michigan Department of Treasury recently announced the state's FAFSA priority deadline will be extended to May 1. Previously, Michigan's FAFSA priority deadline was March 1.
