December 2021

We have just a few days before our holiday break! It doesn't seem possible that we are halfway through the school year. I hope you enjoyed the Scholastic Book Fair! I know I did and I'm so proud of how much money we raised to purchase books and makerspace items for the library. I picked up a few books by some new authors and I'm looking forward to reading them over the break. Come by and tell me what your plans are for the break and let me know what books you are currently reading!

Quote of the Month

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December;

And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.

Eagerly I wished the morrow;—vainly I had sought to borrow

From my books surcease of sorrow—sorrow for the lost Lenore—

For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore—

Nameless here for evermore.

-Edgar Allan Poe

Finished The Companion by Katie Alender over Thanksgiving Break- really liked it! It's in the MYSTERY section of the library. I am reading Wild Bird by Wendelin Van Draanen. It was one that I picked up from the book fair. I have ordered a couple of copies for the library.
