Thanksgiving Share 2015

During this Thanksgiving season, the staff and students of Doyle Elementary School plan to share the spirit of this time of warmth, caring, and love with families from our local neighborhood. We would like to share this project as an entire school community and create Thanksgiving baskets for our families who need extra support. Through this cooperative effort of Doyle’s staff, students, parents and community members, we can realize again the valuable lesson that real joy in life comes from sharing.

The Thanksgiving Share collection will be from

Tuesday, November 3 to Thursday, November 12, 2015.

If you would like to donate a turkey for our collection you can either donate your “free turkey” receipt that you earned from your grocery store or purchase a turkey for our collection.

Please send in a note about either type of donation and include your name and contact information in an envelope marked “Attention Ms. Kowalchick / Thanksgiving Share.” If you are donating your “free turkey” receipt, please send it in with your note.

**Please understand that this project is purely voluntary.**

Please help us by reading the list on our website flyer, which will tell you what each classroom is asked to contribute.

Thank you for your help and support!

We especially wanted to thank our generous sponsors: Danielle Davis at Weidel Realtors for sponsoring the Karaoke machine, Bill and Eileen Laphen at GreenTree Group Contracting, LLC for sponsoring the photo station, Alexa Donaher at Coldwell Bankers Realty for sponsoring "Evan the Magician", Dr. Sam Kadan's Orthodontic practice for sponsoring the Face paint and Colored hairspray stations and Brian R. We also want to thank all the families, students and local businesses who graciously volunteered items for our raffle baskets and/or contributed towards our food sale and all the families that cooked chili or baked delicious cakes and treats for the bake sale and cake walk or volunteered their time to help out that day. Thank you To the Fitzpatrick School of Irish Dancers, Evan the Magician, Action Karate, the Lenape Singers and the Doyle Improv group "The Bouncing Nuggets". The entertainment was fantastic!

Kung Pow Chicken

DJ Vessichelli reached out to one of his favorite authors to recognize how much he enjoys her books.

Dear Cyndi Marko,
I hope you make more books because they are really good. I hope you make more Kung Pow Chicken books. Because they are awesome. I like them because I am doing a 25 Book Challenge at school and I already have 5 books read for the challenge, and 4 of them are yours. If you make more I will buy them immediately and read them. I saw other people in my class reading your books. I never read it before and I wanted to read it. I really love it. Please write more books!!!!

Sincerely,
DJ
