As a school, we are completing a school wide writing prompt modeled after Martin Luther King Jr.'s I Have a Dream speech. Please take time as a family to discuss what dreams and hopes your child may have for their school, family, community or world. Turn in your I Have a Dream cloud anytime this month for display in the foyer.
The library will also feature books by and about great African Americans.
The glass displays in the hallway will display work done in the classroom regarding Black History Month.
If you would like to be a guest speaker or know of someone who would be interested in talking to classes about Black History month, please notify the office or your child's teacher.
Emergency Procedures - PARENT GUIDE
In the event of an emergency at our school in which we have to evacuate and can't reenter the building here are some things you need to know:
1. Students will be guided by teachers and staff to Hill Crest Baptist Church.
2. Students can be checked out by parents in the front office of the church.
3. Staff will take student medicine and appropriate supplies to ensure student safety.
4. All staff and students conduct drills throughout the year to practice emergency situations.
