Community Story Time Tuesday AND Wednesday Mornings!
We had so much fun with our Tuesday morning Community Story Time last fall that we decided to do it on Wednesday morning, too. Community Story Time is on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, from 10:00 till 10:30 here in the Library. We invite kids to bring their favorite grown-up—a mom, dad, grand, or nanny. Join us and bring your friends. A bunch of moms – plus a nanny or two -- and their little ones have had a great time listening to our talented readers. Snacks, songs, and exploring the kids’ books make it fun for the kids. The grown-ups have enjoyed each other’s company, too.
Please Think About Volunteering in the PCBC Library
We still have some openings on weekdays. No need for a long-term commitment; just a couple of hours now and then would be really helpful. You can sign up online by clicking the button below, or just telephone or come on in to talk about it.

Wednesday Evening Book Club
Our first Wednesday Evening Book Club will be January 15. Starting at 6:30 p.m., people can eat beforehand or even grab supper to go and come join us. We will adjourn no later than 8:00 p.m. You can read the book in advance and participate in the discussion, which we will facilitate. For our first book, we will discuss If:Trading your “If Only” regrets for God’s “What If” possibilities, by Mark Batterson. We will feature one book each month, touching on different genres through the spring:
February 12 – HISTORY, BIOGRAPHY –The Soul of America, by Jon Meacham
March 11 – FICTION – A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towle
April 8 – NON-FICTION – Factfulness, by Hans Rosling
May 6 – READERS’ CHOICE – Selection chosen by participants

Take the 2020 Challenge
Stretch yourself a little by taking on the 2020 Challenge. Between now and December 31, read 20 books of different genres, such as a book about animals, a book by a PCBC author, a book about the Bible, and so on. Lots of great ideas to stretch your boundaries a bit. If you want a prize, we’ll think of one. But the real prize is just the fun and accomplishment of reading a bunch of books. You can also accept the 12 Months/12 Books Challenge. It’s all good.
"Thread Heads" to meet on Wednesday Afternoons
Do you like to knit? Crochet? Needlepoint? Counted cross stitch? Weave? Macramé? If it involves thread, yarn or any other fiber, come join us on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Let’s start on January 15! We will enjoy each other’s company and make progress on some of our unfinished work. Beginners are welcome: We would love to teach you our favorite hobby. Let us know if you’re interested in coming: elmartin@pcbc.org.

New Face for Overdrive
Click the Right Button
There’s a new member database at Park Cities Baptist Church. It’s known as TouchPoint, and it’s a treasure trove of useful information. When you go to the PCBC website, you’ll find a Member Login button in the upper righthand corner of each page. It couldn’t be easier to log on and check out your member profile.
But – if you want to access our online patron access catalog, OPAC, don’t confuse the Member Logon button on the Library page with the Account Log On, which is on the Library Catalog.
It’s just a little confusing if you’re a newbie at this. So check it out and give us a call if you have trouble logging in to OPAC. Hint: You can get directly to our OPAC page and log on using our FREE Librista app on your phone. Or if you’re at your computer, use this link.
