Skyview Cafeteria Procedures Review

Skyview homeroom time, classroom meetings and team time during flex are times when the staff reviews building expectations and procedures, introduces new things in our school community and addresses team/class issues. This week students are reviewing cafeteria expectations and procedures. Below please find information on this topic:

  • Students sit with their academic team at the seats they selected. Students may not change seats daily.

  • Students are expected to remain seated - no “wandering” around the cafeteria.

  • Students should enjoy conversation with their tablemates - inside voice - no yelling.

  • When the lights FLICKER, that is the signal to clean up. This includes throwing away trash and cleaning the table and surrounding area.

  • When the lights are OFF, that is the signal to quiet down to prepare for dismissal.

  • Students are dismissed by table by an adult.Students exit through their assigned door (depending on team location in the cafeteria.)

General Reminders:

· Clean up tables and floors

· Use table manners.

· Use indoor voices at all times.

· Ask a cafeteria aide or parent volunteer to leave your seat

· Walk at all times!

· Line up appropriately at dismissal - settle down and be ready to walk in the halls quietly!

Arcola Chair of Honor dedication

On Friday, February 8th at 8:15 a.m., Arcola Intermediate School will be holding an assembly to recognize those who serve/have served our country as members of the military. The staff and students will be dedicating a Chair of Honor in the newly refurbished Arcola auditorium as part of this program. A Chair of Honor is an unoccupied chair that is a memorial to all the brave men and women who served in the military of this great nation, but have not returned home to us. It symbolizes there will always be a seat in Arcola awaiting their return.

Community members are welcome to attend – please be prepared to sign in upon arrival (with driver’s license) in the Arcola Main Office.
