Navigate Knox's Online Learning Websites!

Knox has developed specific grade-level websites to help students navigate distance learning. These websites will help our students navigate to their Zoom classes and office hours, teacher's Canvas pages, as well as provide information about school news and events.

What is the Butterfly Project?

The Butterfly Project is a call to action through education, the arts and memorial making. It uses the lessons of the Holocaust to educate about the dangers of hatred and bigotry and cultivates empathy and social responsibility. Participants paint ceramic butterflies that are permanently displayed as symbols of resilience and hope, with the goal of creating 1.5 million butterflies around the world—one for each child who perished in the Holocaust, and honoring the survivors.

Our 6th grade students had the opportunity to participate in the Butterfly Project on Zoom on 1/28. Students will pick up their butterflies this week during the drive-thru return to Zoom on 2/4 to paint their butterflies, while asking questions to our presenters. After students paint their butterflies, they will be able to return them at Knox (food distribution drive thru daily).

Learn more about the Butterfly Project here.

LOTE Testing

On Friday, February 5th our Knox 8th grade students will have the opportunity to take the LOTE test. Students that will be taking the LOTE have received an email in their gmail. This assessment affords students an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English in order to satisfy the World Language high school graduation requirements.

Congratulations to our students that have passed the LOTE in January.

S.H.E.P Program

Our Knox 6th and 8th Grade students are currently participating in the S.H.E.P program in their Science classroom. For students taking Science Q4, they will participate in the program then.

Knox Primetime Update

Hello Knox Students & Families!

Last month, to welcome in the New Year, we watched the Los Angeles Chargers take on the Las Vegas Raiders. The game was watched online and we were also able to have pizza ordered to the homes of those who were able to partake in our party! In order to be considered for events such as these moving forward, keep a look out for our monthly newsletters as well joining us on our zoom calls Monday-Thursday 3p-6p.

Thank you for all your help and support in getting your kids involved with PrimeTime! We have had an awesome amount of participation but are always looking to add more students to the Knox program! We are continuously enrolling throughout the school year to give your children the best opportunity to participate in sports, arts and other fun activities.

Throughout the month of January, we have been implementing new program activities which consist of a sports day, artistic expression, workout day along with college/career readiness!

We look forward to having you and your kids become a part of our Knox PrimeTime family!

Hope everyone is doing well during this current time. Stay safe!
