Inter-Rater Reliability Activity (Summer 2014)

Thursday, Aug. 14th, 8:30am

Wheelock School, Fredonia, NY 14063

Participants will review the key components of evidence based observation as well as collection and organization of observation evidence as it aligns to your district’s teacher practice rubric (Danielson or NYSUT). We will complete an observation using a video by collecting objective evidence and aligning the evidence collected to score the teacher in the video. Participants will use an online form to document and submit the evidence collected, the score given, and the rationale.

After the session is completed the IES team will communicate the "true score" of the teacher on the video in order for participants to gauge their accuracy. Participants will also receive feedback in terms of the objectivity, the alignment and the representativeness of evidence collected. This feedback will be communicated digitally to participants in the weeks following this face to face session.
