stay connected
HELLO FALCON FAMILIES!
Congratulations on nearing the end of the first full week of the school year! You may be finding your groove, or realizing that your process isn't working and you need more support. The TIDE Committee has been working very hard to make sure that all families are getting the support they need as the school year starts. Below is a message from them, and also a message from PTA Membership. Please contact them if you can help, or if you need help.
If you have a need or see a need that we aren't addressing, please let TIDE or me know directly.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
PTA MEMBERSHIP
Hello McNear Families!
I hope everyone is settling into their school routines, and staying safe and healthy! I miss seeing everyone at school and hope to be back together soon.
As many of you know, the PTA budget is significantly lower this year after having to cancel our main fundraising event last year. We also had a record number of members step up and join the PTA which was amazing, and shows the type of community we are! Thank you all!
This year every little bit will count and we really need all of your support (and partners, spouses, grandparents, aunts and uncles, close neighbors, friends- anyone that loves and supports our students!) to sign up this year. Our school receives a big chunk of the money from the membership fee and the rest goes to supporting the national PTA that does really important work advocating for students across the nation. It only takes a few minutes and you can set it up to auto-enroll for future years.
We will also be sending out paper forms if you prefer to pay with cash or check. Please feel free to email me directly if you have any questions. Karashrrll@yahoo.com
Thank you!

CALLING ALL ROOM PARENTS!
We are enhancing the role of our McNear Room Parents!
To address new challenges that might arise in Distance Learning 2.0 and to meet the needs of all our students, Room Parents will act as liaisons between teachers and families to provide support and build community between classroom families. Ideally there would be at least 2-4 room parents per classroom that would check in regularly with families.
While it is important that room parents commit to the role for the entire school year, they would ideally delegate different tasks among each room parent that coincides with their capacity to volunteer. They would also work and communicate with each other to serve the needs of the classroom. This might include coordinating learning materials distribution, setting up a directory of parent resources within the classroom (i.e., tech help, parent-led zoom lessons), or organizing buddy-study groups and socially distanced outdoor adventures.
