Announcements

"Nothing changes if nothing changes"

WELCOME! I have a few students that have transferred in from other classes. This Newsletter is just a simple update for parents and students to be aware of where we are and where we are heading. This is where you will find announcements, a glimpse of what the students should have written in their planners on a daily basis, student of the week, and some vocabulary terms to work on during study times.

3RD QUARTER GRADES START THIS WEEK FOR MY CLASS. FRESH START FOR ALL!!

Grade #1 INB page 61: Notes, Questions, Summary, Repetition................4 pts.

Grade #2 INB page 60: Meiosis one pager...............................................10 pts.

Grade #3 INB page 62-63 Meiosis drawing..............................................10 pts.

Grade #4 Summative Meiosis quiz...........................................................20 pts.

Last week in science, we started the meiosis unit (INB pages 60-61.) Monday we will continue to examine this process. We really took a deeper look and spent a significant amount of time last week on how to take good notes and how to obtain good repetition from those notes. Hopefully this will help them in the other classes as well. At this point they should have a completed set of notes covering Meiosis on page 61.

AGAIN....If the kids use their class time wisely this week, there should not be much homework. I would appreciate it if parents would take a look through and discuss the last 10-15 pages (up through pg 59) of their INBs with their kids. .

Reminder: the planner, text book pages, instructional videos, handouts, and copies of the notes can also be found on my website.

Student of the Week: Jordan H.

Jordan is one of the hardest working and well-mannered students in class. Jordan continuously strives for excellence. The quality of his Interactive notebook is above and beyond my already high classroom expectations. He works well independently but can also work with other students; he is able to keep focused in all situations. Even if Jordan only misses one problem he will correct it and turn it back in. Always polite to others, he is not only an exemplary student but his demeanor helps set a positive tone for others around him. Thanks Jordan and keep up the good work!!
