Wylie ISD Announces Ticket, Fans Guidelines for 2020 Seasons
Due to the current pandemic, and our desire to follow the guidelines set forth by the Governor of Texas and the University Interscholastic League, we are implementing some new practices concerning seating capacities and ticketing at our athletic facilities (football stadiums and gymnasiums) for the upcoming football, volleyball and basketball seasons. We know this is not ideal, but our goal is to allow our students to take part in these events as safely as possible.
Here are the keys changes for the upcoming seasons:
• Face coverings will be required at all events.
• Season tickets for varsity football are not available this year.
• For all high school events, the family of participants in the athletic contests (Volleyball, Football, Band, Drill, Cheer, and ROTC) will be provided the opportunity to purchase two (2) tickets online. A valid student ID number will be required for purchase.
• For junior high events the same two tickets per participant rules will apply.
• Tickets will be sold online only. No tickets will be sold at the gate/door. Guests must have a ticket (printed or electronic) to enter the venue.
• Due to the current seating/social distance requirement, we cannot accommodate additional guests (other than two tickets per participant) at our stadiums and in our gyms.
• Due to capacity restrictions, we will not be able to allow more than one (1) person per ticket to enter. Example: Two parents and a small child will not be allowed to enter with just two tickets.
• All guests who enter stadiums and gyms will be required to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
• Wylie ISD has implemented a clear bag policy beginning with this season. It will be in effect at Wylie Stadium this fall. https://www.wylieisd.net/Page/15823
• For varsity football games, all unsold tickets (those not purchased by families of the participants) will be made available for on-line sale beginning at 8:00 AM on game days with a limit of two tickets per transaction.
• Road games are subject to the protocols and guidelines set by each district and may vary by location/school. We will do our best to communicate ticketing/seating instructions before each game. Our coaches will communicate with players and parents as information becomes available.
• Concession stands at Wylie Stadium will be open.
• We are planning to live stream all WHS and WEHS home varsity football games. More details will be released as those plans are finalized.
• Unfortunately, fans will not be able to use Wylie ISD Senior Gold Cards or Wylie ISD employee badges for admission this year.

From Our Receptionist and Attendance Clerk
- Please remember we are NOT accepting lunches or deliveries from fast food restaurants at this time. We can only take lunches forgotten at home.
- Reminder for remote and On Campus students to email or bring in Doctor/Parent notes. We have a ton of Absences unaccounted for. Email Shelley.Hanley@wylieisd.net
Attendance disputes for remote students need to communicated to the students teacher before the Attendance Clerk can make those changes.
From the Nurse
Wylie ISD Health Services will be conducting our annual screenings including vision, hearing, risk assessment for type 2 diabetes, and scoliosis. All Kinder, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th graders and students new to Wylie ISD will be screened by the campus nurse during the school day for on campus learners. Remote learners will have the opportunity to participate in the screening program. We have set up a screening clinic on Wednesdays at the Educational Service Center Annex. If you would like for your remote learner(s) to participate in the screenings, we just ask that you sign up for a designated time. Siblings are able to sign up for just one slot.
Click the link here for the sign up. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0B48ADAC2FA0FF2-hearing
Please contact me with any questions!
Thank you being diligent in filling out the health screenings! Please let me know asap if your student is ill. Keeping your child home when they are sick is vital to keeping our campus healthy and open!

https://www.wylieisd.net/Domain/591
***You need to find jeans that DO NOT have rips or holes. We will be much stricter on enforcing this rule this year. Student will be asked to call home to get different pants or given a pair of "loaner" khakis to wear for the day if they are deemed out of dress code!!!***
Cell Phone Policy
In the last few years, other Junior Highs in our area have implemented this policy and see GREAT results! Students are more engaged, have fewer discipline issues with social media, and students actually take time to socialize and TALK to each other in the hallways and at lunch! We see this action as a vital part of our social/emotional learning component for our students and predict higher success rates academically as well.
Saying all this, we know everyone is worrying just a little bit more this year, so your child will be able to see your text between classes. Please have conversations with your children about keeping their phone put away in class. There will be consequences for those who have it out during class.
Please also remember that students have 1 to 1 access to Chromebooks for technological learning.
Consequences for having your phone in class:
1st Offense - Warning - Phone is turned into office and student may pick up at end of day.
2nd Offense - Warning - Phone is turned into office and student may pick up at end of day.
3rd Offense - Discipline action is placed in Skyward. Phone is turned into office and parent must come to school and get phone.
4th Offense - Discipline action is placed in Skyward. Phone is turned into office and parent must come to school and get phone.
5th Offense - ISS Placement
6th Offense - ISS Placement and phone must be turned into office daily to be kept until end of day or not brought to school.
Any offense past this will result in a parent meeting and further action.
***If you need to get in touch with your child immediately, you can call the front office and we will get them a message or out of class to call you. 972-429-3200***
