EMS S2 Final Week Announcements
THANK YOU FAMILIES AND STUDENTS! GO TIGERS!
EMS Thanks You
Thank you for your dedication to your student throughout the school year. It has been a pleasure to work alongside you to improve your student's outcomes and to work toward building a competent, resourceful, and successful person. This year we took steps forward; I am proud of all students attending EMS and what they have accomplished. And, I am proud to be our building's principal. Please provide me with any feedback you can about your student's year. I have high aspirations and want our school to provide any student with a high-expectation, safe, and effective education. I appreciate you. Go Tigers!
Last Days of School
Throughout these next two days of school, students will need to "wrap up" the year and will have an opportunity to celebrate the end of the year and build relationships with their teachers as we look to next year.
Monday: This is a "traditional" school day. Please be prepared for a heavy backpack because students will be cleaning out their lockers at the end of the day on Monday.
Tuesday: Students will still need a pencil and paper this day of school. On this day, students will have an opportunity to say goodbye to 8th graders, students will view a movie, play games, experiment in Science, write Thank You letters, and play disk golf. Please bring Sunscreen.
Final Proficiency Scores: Published on Monday, June 18
Your student's final Proficiency Scores (Indicators) for each Essential Learning Standard will be published on June 18. You will be receiving the Proficiency Report electronically via email. Please contact me if you have any questions. On this final Proficiency Report, you will see comments made by teachers, proficiency scores for the Characteristics of a Successful Learner (See Image Below), and S1 and S2 indicators. Go Tigers!
A Fantastic Music Concert
We have talented students at Estacada Middle School. Both Mr. Hordichok and Mr. Frunk, outstanding musicians and effective teachers, have told me on numerous occasions how rewarding it is to work alongside our middle school vocalists and instrumentalists. Last Thursday's music concert proved how much growth has been made and how the high effort and patience practiced throughout the school year has yielded outstanding musicianship within our students. Be proud of our system! And, congratulations to the many soloists who performed in front of the large audience.
Advanced Band
It was a joy to hear our EMS Tigers play pep songs and tunes they will be performing as EHS Rangers. Go Rangers!
Advanced Choir
Their performance of the Imagine Dragons song was a hit! Great job, students!
Beginning Choir
It was fun to see how excited students were to sing and dance. These students are inspiring. Go Tigers!
Platinum Tiger Card Holders Earn Lunch with the Principal
Last Wednesday, students who earned a special Tiger Card ate Pizza with the Principal. I am very proud all of our students and am happy we have students like these (see image) who are active in upholding the values of our school. Way to go!
Reminder: Sidewalk Under Construction
Please be careful and remember our sidewalk is under construction (see image below). If you are planning to attend the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony, please leave early to allow for extra walking time to arrive to the auditorium. Please speak with your student about their safety and staying away from the sidewalk as the concrete sets. The project's expected ending date is June 20. Go Tigers!
