Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids
FCCLA and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) are encouraging chapters across the nation to get involved in life-saving advocacy as we work together to Take Down Tobacco and #BetheFirst tobacco-free generation! The trainings and resources offered by CTFK help your students understand the dangers of tobacco use and how their voices can make a difference.
The first 100 chapters to take the next step and lead their own training will earn $100. FCCLA chapters that host a training for at least 75 youth can also enter to win one of three $1,000 cash prizes. Contest ends December 15, 2018.
Access from AT&T
National FCCLA is excited to continue partnering with Access from AT&T to engage chapters in bringing affordable internet access to low-income families in their community.
This FCCLA-recommended Community Service Project asks chapters to:
- Host a promotional event at a community-wide school event.
- Distribute flyers at a local grocery store, community center, SNAP and/or welfare office.
- Promote the Access program twice on social media platforms.
Why engage? With the start of a new school year, this is an excellent community service project that can be easily integrated in the classroom. The first 50 chapters to sign up to engage in the program will receive a free promotional toolkit with give-away materials, flyers, and tips for a successful project. Additionally, the first 50 chapters to submit a brief report by April 15, 2019 will receive $250.
To participate, chapters should take a look to see if their state is included in the 21 states where AT&T Access is available. If yes, they should sign up to participate here.
State Associations located within the 21 state service area will also have the opportunity to partner with Access. States that host an Access from AT&T booth at their Spring Leadership Conference will earn a $475 stipend. States can opt-in here.
