Pages App
The Pages app is the IOS version of Apple’s word processing application. It is a very robust word processor. Users can create a wide array of documents and share them in a variety of different formats.

Activity #1
- Open the Pages app
- Tap Create Document on the left side of the screen .
- Select a template - for this activity we will use Blank.
- Type a short sentence. Double tap the spacebar to add a period.
- Triple tap the first word of the sentence to highlight the whole sentence. (A double tap highlights one word.)
- Change the Font and Font Size using the menu bar at the top of the keyboard. Underline the sentence.
- Tap the Paint Brush icon and select List. Select Bulleted list.
- Tap the return key and add another sentence.
- Tap the plus sign in the top right corner, select the icon with the music symbol to add a photo from the Photos app.
- Select the photo and resize by dragging a corner in or pulling out, then use your finger to drag the image to a different place on the page.
- Tap the Wrench icon to access Settings. Tap Settings and make any changes necessary.
- Tap the Share icon (rectangle with arrow) to share the document. Select Send a Copy and choose Mail.
- Choose the format for the document - we will use PDF.
- Email the document to yourself. Tap Documents in the top left to return to the main screen.
Activity #2
- Save a photo of the cover of your favorite book.
- Open the Pages app.
- Tap Create Document on the left side of the screen.
- Select a template - for this activity we will use Blank.
- Tap the Paintbrush icon and select Title for the paragraph style.
- Tap the 5 line icon on the top right of the keyboard and select Center.
- Type the title of your book. Triple tap the title to highlight.
- Change the Font and Font Size using the menu bar at the top of the keyboard.
- Tap to un-highlight the text and tap the return key to move the cursor.
- Tap the 5 line icon on the top right of the keyboard and select Center.
- Tap the plus sign at the top; select the icon with the music symbol to add the photo of your book cover.
- Tap to select the photo and resize by dragging a corner in or pulling out. Use your finger to drag the image to the appropriate place on the page.
- Tap the screen to bring up the keyboard. Select Tap on the keyboard to indent your paragraph.
- Type an introductory sentence about your book. Double tap at the end to add a period.
- Type this sentence: “These are the reasons why I like this book:” Tap Return.
- Tap the Paintbrush icon. Select List; choose bullet.
- Make a list of three things you like about the book.
- Tap Return. Tap the Paintbrush icon > List to turn off bullets. Tap Return again.
- Tap the Tab key and type an ending sentence.
- Tap Documents in the top right. Rename your document by tapping the default name.
- Select the Share icon in the top left. Choose Send a Copy. Tap once on your document to select then choose Mail, select document type.
