Tom Sawyer
The Unexpected Hero
Tom Sawyer might have been a troublemaker, but in the end, he turns out to be a hero. He proved how kind, loving, clever and courageous he really was by his actions. His acts of bravery are magnificent, as you can see during the course of the book. After all, it doesn't matter how people view you; you can do whatever you put your mind to.
Tom Sawyer's cleverness ended up working in his favor many times. Once, he was in trouble with his aunt, and she forced him to paint her fence white. He convinced another kid to think that it was fun, and he traded his job for the kid's apple. So in the end, it was a win-win situation for him.
Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn saw Injun Joe murder Dr. Robinson at the graveyard at midnight, and while Muff Potter (yes, he was there too) was knocked out, Joe put the knife in his hand and when he woke up, Joe told him that he was so drunk that he murdered Dr. Robinson. When the kids saw this, they ran back to their homes immediately. If they hadn't have ran, Injun Joe surely would've seen him and catch on their case.
Tom Sawyer and his lover, Becky Thatcher, were stuck in a cave. Tom Sawyer led Becky Thatcher out of the cave with his bravery, strength and cleverness. At one point while they were in the cave, they saw Injun Joe, so they had to escape unnoticed. They made it out of the cave through a small hole. If it weren't for Tom Sawyer, they both would've been killed.
