Earlville CUSD 9 Week of October 31, 2022 Family Edition

From the 6-12 Principal's Office
The last week in review...
We partnered with the Earlville Police Department, LaSalle County Police Department, and the Illinois State Police to conduct our "safety search". During the search the dogs sniff the students bags (after they put them in the hallway), all throughout the building, and the school grounds. We are happy to announce that nothing was found inside the building. This would be a good time to talk with your child about the importance of keeping the school safe and why it is important to not bring any vapes, drugs, etc. into the building.
My "awesome" of the quarter was seeing our stands full again. The goal for this school year was to have more students, families, and community members come and cheer on our teams. YOU ARE DOING IT! I can't wait to see what the basketball stands look like. I am SO PROUD to be your Principal!
"Anonymous Student Reporting" This is where if you see something you need to say something. It is completely anonymous. https://www.earlvillecusd9.org/page/student-help-desk
JH Basketball and JH Cheerleading has started, you should check out our team and our cheering section!
Make sure you are marking your calendars for all the fun and exciting events that are planned. We hope to see you at the games cheering on the teams! We are doing a great job on this. The stands are becoming full and full of excitement! Keep it up!

Important Information and Reminders
All School Eligibility for 9th - 12th
I met with the students on 10/24 to discuss their eligibility. EVERY child should of come home with a parent letter explaining their points and if they are eligible or not. Please make sure you ask your child for the paper.
Lexia for 6th - 8th Grade
The students are doing great! Our school is doing above level work and mastering skills at an extremely quick rate. This program is used to "fill gaps" in the students learning. Every Monday they are rewarded for meeting their usage, and "leveling" up. Ask your child how they are doing.
Coffee with the Principal:
I would like to get you as parents more involved and updated. I am thinking of doing a "Coffee with the Principal" once a month. At this I will discuss different topics that pertain to junior high and high school students. I would like feedback from you about topics and if this would be something that would be of value for our community. Please fill out the short survey if you are interested. https://forms.gle/XM58PwKYEZjrnjCo8 Our 1st Coffee will be in November and the information will come out in the next newsletter.
