Principal's Corner
Sept. 21st - Sept. 25th
Thanks to those of you that were able to "join us" for our Virtual Back-to-School Night. If you missed it, click here and get to know your student's teachers!
We are rockin' and rollin' with our Comprehensive Distance Learning! Thank you for having your students engage with their classes! We are seeing very high attendance rates at all of our grade levels.
With the smoke the past week, I know a lot of families were unable to come by the school and grab materials that will be helpful, but please swing by if you can. These materials (math notebooks, hard copies of reading materials, student planner, etc.) will aid in your student's learning as they engage and interact with their classes.
Also remember that you can come by to grab your music instruments and also check out a library book! Click here to watch how you can order/reserve a library book from SMS's library!
We have had a little over 100 parents/families that have added the "Observer" role with the Canvas Parent App. Videos and tutorials can be found below!
It has been so amazing to virtually "hop" into classes this week. Our kids are amazing and are engaging in meaningful learning. Keep encouraging them to attend and engage with their classes and teachers. As always, please let us know how we can serve your family with any needs!
Stay healthy and safe!

Weekly Character Dare
This week at dinner or driving in the car, after asking, “How was your day” don’t stop with the “good” or “ok” response! Follow it up with “why” or “tell me more about that.” Do it several times to really get deep into understanding.
Better yet, change up the question! How about, “Who did you help today?” or “What was the most challenging part of your day?” or “What’s one way I can help make today better?”
