Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer! I can't wait to see students and hear about their fun summer memories. The Erickson Express will be sent home each Thursday throughout the school year to keep families informed on the happenings at Erickson. Please review this issue to hear about the back to school events. The office will resume normal school hours on Monday, August 15 to answer any questions: 630-529-2223.

PrincipalImportant Dates to Start the School Year
August 17 - 3:00-6:00 pm: INFORMATION DAY: Families can come to Erickson to find out classroom teacher, bus routes, PTO information, after school events, etc. Families can walk the building. Teachers are not present on this day. To ensure your child(ren)’s name are included on a class list, please have them fully registered by Friday, August 12, 2022. If you are unable to attend Information Day, please call the school starting August 18th (as the 17th will be busy) to find out teachers and bus routes.
First Day of School
The first full day of school is Thursday August 25th, for students in first - fifth grade. Kindergarten & Preschool students start school on Monday, August 29th. Students may arrive between 8:25-8:40. Classes begin at 8:40.
School Hours
Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30
Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30
Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30
Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20
Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20
Lunch Times
4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50
Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.

Staff Update for the 2022-203 School Year
Ms. Taylor: will be the Resource Teacher (while Mrs. Gnatyuk is on maternity leave)
Mr. Calix: will be the 3rd grade teacher (while Mrs. Silwa is on maternity leave)
Miss Ott: Moved from 1st grade to 2nd grade (replacing Mrs. Atchison due to retirement).Mrs. Ikens and Mrs. Holm (Current 3rd Grade Teachers)...will be job sharing a 3rd grade classroom. Two amazing teachers...one classroom.
New Teacher, Mrs. Raimondi will be a 1st Grade Teacher.
New Teacher, Mrs. Weber will be a 3rd Grade Teacher.
New Teacher, Mr. Litavecz will be the Gym Teacher.
New Teacher, Mr. Welch will be the Music Teacher.
New Teacher, Ms. Zbizek will be a K-1 Structured Teacher.
New Teacher, Mrs. Moore will be a Preschool Teacher.
New Teacher, Ms. Brandon will be the Preschool Speech Pathologist.
Return to School Community Forum
This is open to all parents in the district. A Return to School Community Forum that will be held on Monday, August 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Erickson Elementary School. The topic will be safety and will address: Building site and safety drills; Health protocols for 2022-2023; Student safety; Online safety at school and at home.
PTO Information
Open Volunteer Positions: We have a few Chair positions that we need filled in order to continue the programs and events. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the positions or if you are interested. Details Attached. Thank you!
