We appreciate you, and thank you all for your support. As we head into the last week of the 2nd six weeks, we want to remind everyone that the last day for grades is November 6th. A few reminders about grades are as follows:
- Students are expected to turn work in on due dates.
- Reduction in grade for late work can be assessed.
- After three days late, a teacher does not have to accept an assignment.
- If a student scores below a 70 on a major grade they are eligible for a retake up to a 70, as long as they notify the teacher within three days from grade posting.
For more details on grading procedures and guidelines you can review the handbook at: https://www.emsisd.com/domain/4052
Our mission at WMS is to foster a lifelong love for learning that prepares our students for their future. We value the partnership with faculty, parents, and the school community to help build positive relationships and develop high expectations for all. We continually strive to help all students realize their full potential for success and look forward to the great things they will accomplish.
Family Access for all grading notification
As a reminder, Wayside is paperless for all grading reports. This includes all progress reports and reports cards. So please note that these grading reports will not be printed and sent home with the student. These grades are always accessible in Family Access. If you are not already enrolled in Family Access please click here for details how to sign up.
Does your child need tutorials?
Districtwide tutorials offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5 pm to 8 pm are still available. A student simply signs up for the tutorial on those days by logging into the website and going to the tutorial link shown on every secondary school's main page. Once the form is complete, the tutors will log into the spreadsheet, access the request, and set up a TEAMS meeting for the student. If the student does not log into the TEAMS meeting, a phone call will be made using the number on the form to call the student. Please remember that tutorials are only offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and the tutor only accesses those students who submit forms on those days.
These tutorials are for both the remote and in-person learner. We want our tutors busy, so please if your student is needing assistance in his/her work in English, math, or science, please utilize this service. We will continue to offer the services through the 2nd six weeks, and the we reevaluate the effectiveness of these districtwide tutorials.
