We are half way through the 2015-2016 school year! This means students and teachers have half of the school year to continue what is working well with regard to learning and achievement. Our goal is to empower each student with quality teaching. Sometimes our students may need a little help this time of the year.
Please consider the following options:
Schedule a conference with your child's teacher.
Review progress reports and report cards.
Utilize Skyward Family Access to check weekly grades
Make sure your child completes homework. All students have homework Mon.-Thurs.

Super Bowl STAAR Information Night
Special Guest - Football and Basketball Coaches from Hightower and Elkins High School
Parents and students are invited to Lake Olympia's STAAR Information Night on Thursday, February 4, from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. Administrators and teachers will share important information about the STAAR test and strategies to help your child pass the state assessment. We invited coaches from Hightower High School and Elkins High School. The coaches will share information about their athletic program and the importance of making good grades. We will also " TAILGATE" with free hot dogs, refreshments, and door prizes. The Book Fair will be open for parents and students to purchase books, posters, and pencils.
Lake Olympia's Fine Arts Department Presents " Empty Bowls" Event
Join us for a community involvement event on Tuesday, February 2nd from
6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger.
Donation Minimum - $10.00 Students created bowls from clay . Come out and help end hunger. Join us for bowl of soup!

Lake Olympia's Teens in the Driver's Seat Club is currently 2nd place in the state with the Teen's Driver's Seat Cup Contest. Students participate with activities and messaging throughout the year about safe driving.

Fuel Up Play 60
Lake Olympia Middle School received the Fuel Up Play 60 Grant. The grant will help promote the awareness of healthy eating to all students. We are making plans to have a health bar in the cafeteria. The purpose of Fuel Up Play 60 is to empower youth, schools, and communities to implement healthy changes across the nation.

Students will be able to trace her journey from childhood in Houston's
Fifth Ward through her election to U.S. Congress. This remarkable
production introduces students to a Legendary Texas politician.
