The PHS Leo Club is running the 4th Annual Rubber Duck Race on Sunday 5/15/16 at 1 pm at Covered Bridge Park. This year's proceeds will benefit Angel 34, a local charity that supports Lehigh Valley families with children who are battling cancer. The Leos were inspired to support Angel 34 because a PHS freshman is currently battling Ewing’s Sarcoma. Due in part to Angel 34's efforts, in the
fall
Lehigh Valley Hospital will be opening a pediatric infusion center. With an infusion center in the Lehigh Valley, children battling cancer will no longer have to travel out of the area to receive chemotherapy. The cost of each duck is $10 (cash or check made payable to Parkland High School) and the prizes are as follows:1st place $1,000
2nd place $200
3rd place $100
Last place $50
You can buy a duck from any Leo club member, Christy Keating (keatingc@parklandsd.org) or Margaret Buell (buellm@parklandsd.org). Due to a group effort in the first three duck races, the Leo Club has raised over $23,000 for charitable causes.
