New Information
This Week's Lessons
This week's lesson schedule is linked below.
6th graders will have one lesson between the next two weeks due to conferences and the holiday schedule. If your student's name is not on this week's schedule, it is on next week's.
7th Graders will have lessons like usual this week. Next week, they should plan on coming in during their study hall to work on their solos.
Conferences This Week!
Our Next Concert
Believe it or not, our winter band concert is coming up fast on Thursday, December 7. This concert will be split up into a 6th grade and a 7th grade performance:
6th Graders: The 6th grade performance will begin at 6:30 PM. Students should arrive at Prairie View no later than 6:00 to warm-up and prepare for the concert. The performance will conclude at or before 7:00 PM.
7th Graders: The 7th grade performance will begin at 7:30 PM. Students should arrive at Prairie View no later than 7:00 to warm-up as a group.
All Students: Be sure to check that those black pants still fit! The concert will be webcast (we have worked out the technical "kinks!") through Mr. Quaglieri's YouTube channel posted to www.spbb.org/pvms.
WSMA Solo & Ensemble
Many students are already thinking ahead to the WSMA Solo/Ensemble Festival on February 10th at Prairie View. Many students have also decided to perform in a small ensemble. So what does all this mean?
- For the moment, 7th grade parents should talk to your child about their plans to play at the festival.
- Check your family calendar, athletic calendars, etc. to figure out your child's availability for that day.
- We do have the ability to schedule around other events.
- Put the deadlines in this newsletter into your family calendar so you can stay on top of them.
6th Grade Solo Night
***Note: This event is different from WSMA Solo & Ensemble mentioned above!***
I will be writing this schedule in mid-November to allow time to publish it in the Winter Concert Program. If you have scheduling requests (i.e. need to go at a specific time) please let me know. It will be easier to selectively schedule students right away rather than going back and trying to move things around after the schedule is published.
