What Is Pre-Reporting Data Validation?
The Data Validation process allows schools to correct errors in reported information, such as student demographics or testing accommodations that could potentially contain errors. In Indiana, schools can correct data from March 23 to April 3. This is usually done by the District Test Coordinator since WIDA DRC automatically assigns the Data Validation permission to the DTC, but permissions may also be granted to Test Administrators.
For example, if a yellow District/School label was adhered to a booklet, but the students's demographic information was not bubbled (or bubbled incorrectly), the DTC could add or edit this information during the Data Validation window. This allows the opportunity to correct any errors before the students' score reports are posted, printed, or sent to parents.
