For the Additional 5 Minutes of Instruction
Just a reminder this is the LAST WEEK FOR THE EXTRA FIVE MINUTES TO THE SCHOOL DAY> The additional minutes has helped us make up for lost instructional time due to the delayed start on January 11 due to inclement weather.
On Monday, May 10, we will return to our current bell schedule. During the three-week revised bell schedule period, the new dismissal times will impact bus schedules, as well as parent pick-up times. We appreciate your flexibility!
Parents, we need your help!
Let's help keep everyone safe!
Face masks are still required for all students and staff. Unfortunately, we are running low on the state's supply of free masks and still have five weeks of school left. Spring ISD's mask policy has not changed and all students and staff are required to wear a mask. Each student received a bag of free washable cloth masks from the district and we are asking that you please make sure your child comes to school wearing a mask. With the COVID cases and variants on the rise in our community, we need to be EXTRA cautious for the remainder of the school year. If your child does not have a mask, you will be asked to provide one or come and pick up your child. Your child will be held in the Isolation Room until you do so. Let's continue to work together and not jeopardize the safety of our kids and staff. MASK UP BENGALS. It's a district expectation!

Check Your Email on Monday to Take Our Virtual Academy Interest Survey!
Don’t forget to check your email on Monday, May 3, for a district survey gauging parent interest in a new Virtual Academy!
We’re moving forward with the planning of a Virtual Academy that would serve students in grades 3 -12, assuming we’re able to receive state authorization and there’s enough parent interest.
We know that online learning has really been a great fit for some families, so we’re looking at offering a virtual academy for students who really thrive in this learning environment.
The academy would build upon our experience over the past year, giving students a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction with the opportunity to stay connected with their zoned campus through virtual clubs and in-person extracurricular activities.
So check your email on Monday and give us your feedback! The survey will remain open through Friday, May 14.
PreK - 2 Students will all be on campus next year.
Let's Keep In Touch! Log into HAC Today!
Parents, now’s the time to update your contact information in the Home Access Center and be sure that we have an email address linked to your HAC account.
This is very important as we will need an email address to contact you over the summer with your annual student update in preparation for the 2021-22 school year.
Getting access to HAC is easy via the mySpringISD link, found on every campus website, as well as the district website. Parents who aren’t sure of their logon information should contact their school. If you already have your mySpringISD username and password, getting to HAC is just a matter of logging into the portal and then clicking on the Home Access Center icon.
Once in HAC, you can edit your contact information in the demographics section. Again, it’s very important we have an email address listed in your HAC account. If you need more details on how to access HAC or set up an email address, visit www.springisd.org/hac.

Take Part in Our Reading Colors Your World Competition and Win Prizes!
Get ready for the next district reading competition, set to launch on May10 for students in grades K -8. The event will mark the third such contest this year and will feature prizes, including gift cards and water bottles.
All students need to do is log onto the mySpringISD portal from May 10 - May 28 and access the myON Reader platform, where they’ll be able to access thousands of books. Prizes will be awarded to the top three elementary students with the most minutes of reading time. For students in middle school, prizes will be awarded to those top three with most books read.
Also, myOn Reading Choice Boards will be available through your child’s teacher. You can ask for a print copy or to access it digitally. Challenge yourself by at least completing two non-fiction, two poetry, and two fiction boxes!
The goal is to see all elementary and middle school students logging into myON and exploring new books!
