Champions Together: Congratulations to Tri-West Middle School!
Tri-West Middle School was the first school in the country to earn the Champions Together 50th Anniversary Special Olympics Banner!
Spring, and track in particular, is a huge area of involvement for Champions Together. This could be an ideal time to consider your participation for next year. Does the high school in your district participate? Are you near any of the IMLEA members who are already involved?-Rochester MS

You might consider contacting schools and observing a competition. We plan to offer trainings in the fall for those interested, but feel free to email Susie Highley now for any questions and if you would like to get started. We have a section devoted to Champions Together in the Middle on our website. And, we would love to observe some of these events ourselves!

Nominations Open for Shining Star Teachers and Students!
IMLEA and Horace Mann have partnered for the last several years to recognize students and teachers for outstanding contributions in support of their school. The Shining Star Award is open to any student in grade 5 – 9, or any teacher with any number of years of experience. Any certified staff member from an IMLEA member school may nominate a student or a colleague, but the nomination form must be signed by a building administrator.
Teachers designated as "STAR" winners are recognized in honor of Dr. Roger Boop, a retired professor from the education department at Butler University and long time friend and supporter of IMLEA. You can find the applications and more information for both on our website. Nominations are due May 1.
IMLEA Conference, September 29-30
Our conference website is now live. You may register your staff members (no price increase) and make hotel reservations (an increase of only $3 from last year.) Stay tuned for more information on the breakout sessions that will be offered!
