MacBook Check In
As part of this year's end of school procedures, teachers, counselors, and campus techs will need to turn in their MacBooks. We will be doing a series of upgrades that includes wiping the computer. We will reissue you the same computer in a couple weeks. You will be responsible for backing up your own data.
Whoa, but how do I back up my data?
There are a number of ways that you can save your work. I've written tutorials for 3 different methods. Click on the link below to bring up the article.
Getting Your Computer Back
You will be able to pick up your computer from June 22 - 25. As stated, we will return the same computer to you with upgrades. The data will be wiped, but we can assist you in moving it back over during that time. (Provided that you saved it.)
Scanning with your iPad
As we continue to use digital tools in our teaching and productivity, having the ability to quickly scan documents and/or student work becomes a must. There are many choices out there. As with anything it seems that you get what you pay for in terms of features. The free options may work well for you. Power users may wish to have something more sophisticated. Personally, I've used Scanner Pro by Readdle for years. It was $2. Now there are more and more free scanner apps available. Google Drive currently has scanner support for droid smartphones. Hopefully the feature will be available in iOS soon. The link below lists apps at different prices ranges that you can use to scan documents from your phone or iPad.
Scanner Apps for iPhone and iPad
To scan from a Galaxy or other droid phone, just use the free Google Drive app.
Collaborative Note Taking with Google Docs
Casey Bell (a.k.a. ShakeUpLearning) has a ton of really great articles and ideas about how to leverage Google Apps for teaching and learning. This latest article presents a collaborative note taking strategy. We actually did this in a training with Alan November at the service center a few years ago. It was really cool and seems great for MS and HS students. Click on the link below to find out more.

Use Your iPad or iPhone to Create Photo Web Pages for Sharing or Collaborating
With iOS 8 it is really simple to share pictures on a web page. You can even invite others to add to the shared photo streams and/or comment on one another's posts. It's quicker and easier than you might think. Click on the button below to find out how.
