St. Jerome School Weekly Newsletter
April 7th, 2021
O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory? Christ is risen, and you are overthrown. Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen. Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice. Christ is risen, and life reigns.”
St. John Chrysostom
From Mr. Merrick
Dear St. Jerome Families,
We hope that you all had a blessed and relaxing Easter break.
Friday, April 9th will be an Easter/spring themed dress down day. For a donation, the students may (following the usual dress down day requirements) dress in Easter/spring outfits or their gym uniforms.
When we have a dress down day or sprit day that does not have a specific cause, all of the funds go to our school's fundraising account. These funds are then used to make improvements to benefit our students that we might not be able to do. For example, most recently,, these funds were used to help purchase supplies for the 3D printer and purchase new microphones that Mr. Dooley is now using for the morning news broadcast.
We offer our congratulations to our Students of the Month for March who were recognized for living the virtue of mercy at our April School Liturgy today: Elijah King, Cassidy Peterman, Alexa Pesce, Finn Leighton, Owen Dudzek, Madalyn Edney, Mia Hood, Emma Hand, Alex Vena, Camryn Brescia, & Francesco Macrina. For April, we will work on the virtue of justice.
We appreciate the contributions of the St. Jerome School Class of 1973 and their continued generosity in presenting an annual scholarship to a seventh grader student of integrity, respect, compassion, courage, and reason. Last year, they were not able to make the award due to the switch to virtual learning and other related shutdowns that occurred so they had to wait until this spring. We are pleased to announce that Brynn Crooks was presented with this award at today’s school Mass.
Summer uniform begins on Monday, April 19th. As a reminder, the uniform requirements are here. As the weather can fluctuate in April and May, please make sure your child has appropriate outerwear.
Please spread the word: we will host private family tours on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Reservations are required, so please let anyone that you know is interested in learning more about our school to contact the main office to schedule a convenient time.
St. Jerome, pray for us!
