Preparing and Educating for Success! 3/17/2020
Recent Updates
Yesterday, Central Office emailed a letter to all parents and guardians in the district. In this communication, it was stated that students would be out of school Wednesday 3/18-Friday 4/3. Only approved personnel will be in the buildings 3/18-3/20. All of these decisions were made to help ensure the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff, and to do our part in trying to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 throughout our area.
There are many questions that we do not have answers to, but we will continue to share updates as we receive them. The district will have additional information they will be sharing throughout this time.
I felt it necessary to address how this will look for our high school students:
-The entire district will be shut down 3/21-4/5. No access to any school buildings. No employees will be in any of the offices.
-Athletics is postponed during school closure. No practices or games.
-All clubs and organizations are unable to meet during school closure.
-All events are canceled during school closure.
-Parent/Teacher Conferences have been canceled. Teachers will be emailing parents in regards to students' grades before they leave tomorrow. Grade cards will be mailed home at the end of this week. Please contact teachers through email if you have any specific needs or concerns.
-Teachers have prepared students with assignments on content they were currently covering during this school closure period. Teachers will be meeting tomorrow to compile additional online resources to be posted on the school website. If this closure is extended, we will communicate how we will be continuing to cover curriculum moving forward.
-Prom has been postponed at this time and will not be held on the 4/4 date. We will review rescheduling this event at a later date to be determined at the end of our school closure. More details will be shared at that time.
-At this time, we do not have any decisions in regards to Graduation. We will communicate any information when we have it.
- ACT and SAT testing has been postponed.
Information on food services will be sent out at the district level when the logistics are set.
There are many resources in the community as well.
There is a new tab on the FPS website at www.fulton58.org labeled COVID-19. Under this tab you will find all resources and communications - this will be continually updated. The typical modes of communication including email, Facebook, Twitter, and SchoolMessenger calls, texts, and email will be used during the time of school closure to keep everyone updated.
Please know that the faculty and staff at FHS are working together and will continue to provide support for all of our students during this difficult time. We hope that your family is safe and finds some comfort in the information that we have provided.
